Tesla prepares new Optimus V3 robot: mass production in 2026
28.07.2025 | 16:07 |Elon Musk has announced that Tesla intends to complete development of the new version of its humanoid robot, Optimus V3, by the end of 2025. Mass production of this model is slated to commence in 2026. Musk referred to Optimus as the "greatest product in history," without specifying whether this refers to Tesla's history or human history as a whole.
Optimus robots are currently deployed for tasks within Tesla factories and at the new Supercharger diner in Los Angeles. Next year, there are plans for the robots to begin delivering food to customer vehicles.
The Optimus V3 will stand 173 cm tall and weigh 57 kg. Its operation relies on artificial intelligence and sensors similar to those used in Tesla's Autopilot system. The robot is trained to perform tasks such as carrying loads, cleaning, delivery, and even playing board games.
In 2025, Tesla aims to produce between 5,000 and 10,000 Optimus V3 units for internal use. By 2026, the company plans to scale up production to 100,000 robots intended for sale. The projected cost of the Optimus V3 is anticipated to range from $20,000 to $30,000.
