Turkic countries seek common ways to strengthen social protection and support for families
13.06.2025 | 02:05 |On June 12, the 2nd Meeting of Ministers and Heads of Institutions Responsible for Family Affairs and Social Policy of the Organization of Turkic Speaking States (OTS) was held in Baku, Azerbaijan. Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Khalbibi Tachzhanova participated from Turkmenistan.
In his speech, Secretary General of the OTS Kubanychbek Omuraliev emphasized the importance of continuous efforts to promote family-oriented policies, inclusive social development and the empowerment of women and youth. He emphasized that the meeting reflects the shared commitment of member states to strengthen the foundations of their societies in line with the “Vision of the Turkic World – 2040”.
Discussions during the meeting covered a wide range of priority areas, including family protection, inclusive employment, social security and inclusion of vulnerable groups. Delegates reaffirmed their readiness to deepen cooperation in these areas and expressed support for holding meetings of working groups on family and social policy to prepare joint programs and projects.
The key event of the meeting was the signing of a Joint Communiqué, reflecting a common vision and coordinated actions of member states to address social issues and strengthen family support systems throughout the Turkic region.
