Mary velayat of Turkmenistan and Khatlon region of Tajikistan expand ties
The issues of strengthening cooperation between the regions of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan in various key areas became the topic of discussion at the meeting of representatives of the two countries. Particular attention was paid to the prospects for developing relations in the fields of agriculture, industry, as well as in the cultural, humanitarian and tourism sectors.
During the conversation, the parties emphasized the importance of intensifying ties in these areas. The meeting took place on May 7, when Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to Turkmenistan Vafo Niyatbekzoda held talks with khyakim of the Mary velayat of Turkmenistan Begenchmyrat Orazov.
According to NIAT "Khovar", it was discussed strengthening cooperation, in particular, within the framework of the implementation of the existing Agreement between the Executive Body of State Authority of the Khatlon Region of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Khyakimlik of the Mary velayat of Turkmenistan. This Agreement defines the basis for the implementation of international and foreign economic relations in the trade, economic, scientific, technical, social, cultural and humanitarian spheres between the two regions.
In this context, the importance of establishing and maintaining permanent working contacts between enterprises and business representatives of both countries was also noted. The importance of mutual participation in events and regular information on current projects being implemented in the Khatlon and Mary regions was emphasized.
Thus, the meeting confirmed the mutual desire of Tajikistan and Turkmenistan to further develop and deepen interregional cooperation for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
