Turkmenistan is the leader in tourist growth to Thailand for four months of 2025
06.05.2025 | 15:15 |According to data from the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), as reported by INTERFAX with reference to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), Turkmenistan has registered the largest increase in tourist arrivals to the Kingdom. This growth amounted to 155%, representing 1,473 travelers over the four months of 2025. Statistics indicate a significant rise in tourist flow from Kazakhstan among post-Soviet countries, with 91,000 travelers visiting Thailand between January and April. Demand for this destination is also growing among tourists from Uzbekistan (an increase of 65.8% and 26,000 tourists), Armenia (an increase of 153.36% and 1,619 tourists), and Azerbaijan (an increase of 145.42% and 2,707 tourists). The growth in tourist flow from Belarus exceeds 150%, totaling 16,000 tourists.
Regarding the number of tourist arrivals to Thailand from non-Asian countries, Russia remains the leader and is among the top five countries in terms of tourist flow across all foreign markets. It is reported that Thailand has broken another record for Russian tourist arrivals. From January to April, over 880,000 Russians visited the country, a 15.2% increase compared to the same four months of 2024. According to the TAT, the total number of foreign tourists visiting Thailand since the beginning of the year exceeds 4.5 million, representing a growth of over 18% compared to the corresponding period last year.
