 An exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory has opened at the Ashgabat Museum of Fine Arts

On April 25, the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan hosted the grand opening of an exhibition dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

The ceremony was attended by the Russian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Ivan Volynkin, Deputy Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan Nursakhet Shirimov, representatives of the diplomatic corps and public circles, art historians, and journalists.

"The veteran artists and sculptors whose works were presented to the public went through the fire of war to give us all peace and freedom. They fought near Moscow and Stalingrad, liberated Europe, and upon returning home, continued to serve the Fatherland through art," the press release of the Russian embassy noted.

In his speech, the head of the Russian diplomatic mission expressed confidence that this exhibition will become a connecting bridge between the past and the present, a reason to think about what we want our future to be. He added that today's exhibition is the first of the many events organized by the Embassy in honor of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. According to him, concerts and film screenings will be held in Ashgabat on the occasion of the holiday, the "Alley of Memory" will be opened, and the Immortal Regiment procession will take place.

The exposition at the Museum of Fine Arts of Turkmenistan dedicated to the May 9 holiday includes 44 paintings and 14 sculptures. The exhibition will run until May 12.
