Almaty hosts ministerial meeting of the Central Asia-China format
27.04.2025 | 21:00 |The 6th meeting of foreign ministers of the Central Asia-China format was held in Almaty on April 26. The meeting was attended by Kazakhstan Murat Nurtleu, China - Wang Yi, Kyrgyzstan - Jeenbek Kulubayev, Tajikistan - Sirojiddin Mukhriddin, Uzbekistan - Bakhtiyor Saidov and Ambassador of Turkmenistan to China Parakhat Durdyev.
The meeting focused on strengthening political dialogue, expanding trade and economic ties, developing transport connectivity, jointly combating challenges and threats, as well as issues of sustainable development and environmental security in the region. Proposals for improving the architecture of multilateral interaction between Central Asia and China based on the principles of mutual respect and equality were discussed.
The parties emphasized the need for balanced approaches to modern challenges and agreed on steps towards mutually beneficial development. The importance of consolidating efforts was noted so that the upcoming meeting of leaders in this format would open a new era of friendship and prosperity for the countries of the dialogue.
Following the event, an Information Communique was adopted, which recorded a common commitment to the principles of good-neighborliness, sustainable development and deepening multilateral cooperation within the framework of the Central Asia - China format.
