Oriented on making people closer

On April 23, National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov arrived in Uzbekistan.

At the international airport of Samarkand, solemnly decorated with the national flags of the two countries, the distinguished guest was met by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

As part of the program of events in the city of Samarkand, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Hazrati Khizr complex and honored the memory of the first President of Uzbekistan.

Then the National Leader of the Turkmen people and the head of Uzbekistan took part in cultural events organized on the territory of the historical and ethnographic park "Eternal City" in the international tourist center "Silk Road Samarkand", the press service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.

The Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan got acquainted with exhibitions revealing the rich cultural heritage of the Uzbek people, examples of handicrafts and applied arts. A cultural program of performances by choreographic groups was presented.

In accordance with the program of the visit of the National Leader of the Turkmen people to Uzbekistan, bilateral negotiations are planned, issues of further strengthening of relations of friendship, good neighborliness and strategic partnership will be considered.
