 China and Malaysia have jointly released a statement announcing the establishment of a high-level strategic community with a shared future

China and Malaysia have reached an agreement to establish a high-level strategic community with a shared future. This is according to a joint statement issued by the two nations following the state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Malaysia.

Significant emphasis is planned on strengthening strategic coordination. The two countries intend to promote comprehensive, coordinated, and mutually complementary development, strive for the deep integration of production and supply chains, and place importance on investment cooperation, e-commerce, and the development of new energy sources.

Also prioritized is the strengthening of people-to-people ties, supporting peace and stability in the South China Sea, and increasing regional cooperation, including within such associations as ASEAN and APEC, as well as strengthening coordination within other multilateral mechanisms, including the UN, the World Trade Organization, and the World Health Organization.
