Turkmenistan has expressed interest in supplying textiles to the Astrakhan Region

Executives from two of Turkmenistan's largest state-owned textile enterprises, the Saparmurat Turkmenbashy the Great Textile Complex and the Kaka Textile Complex, paid a working visit to the Astrakhan Region. During a meeting at the "My Business" Center, they presented their products to the business community of the Astrakhan Region.

The Astrakhan Minister of Foreign Relations, Vladimir Golovkov, who attended the meeting, stated that the Astrakhan Region has established close trade and economic ties with Turkmenistan, noting that bilateral trade turnover increased by 15% in 2024. The minister emphasized that the expansion of trade turnover plays a pivotal role in all joint projects:

"This current meeting provides a unique opportunity for representatives of Astrakhan businesses to familiarize themselves with high-quality Turkmen products and to directly conclude contracts without intermediaries."

The Consul of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan, Gadam Ilamanov, affirmed that Turkmenistan remains a leading producer of textile products in Central Asia, possessing a robust production base with a complete cycle – from cotton processing to the manufacturing of finished goods.

At the meeting, windbreakers, shirts, trousers, shorts, and towels were presented. Top managers from the Turkmen textile complexes answered questions from interested representatives of Astrakhan companies regarding the supply of products to local markets.
