New Year’s surprise from the little stars of figure skating

A television shooting of exhibition performances of young figure skaters took place in the Ashgabat Winter Sports Complex. A long-awaited event, which young athletes have bindingly been preparing for, is timed to celebrate the New Year, so the ice fairy tale turned out to be the most magical.

The audience of the Turkmenistan Sport TV Channel will see the festive performance on the air on December 29, and in the meantime, we offer you the brightest moments of the ice show.

In the New Year’s extravaganza, everything is like in a real fairy tale. Insidious old witches Babas-Yagas are again freaking out and trying to steal the holiday, and bats, personifying “dark forces”, help them in this. But the Oriental beauty Scheherazade and small chickens, dancing the mischievous dance “Jujalarim”, hinder the pranksters.

The New Year’s ice show was not without waltzing ringing bells and the main guests of the holiday – Santa Claus and Snow Maiden. Here, as in any fairy tale, good wins over evil, and on the New Year’s tree colorful lights have miraculously been lit in 2021.

“Our students always perform with pleasure, during several years in a row we went to ice dance festivals in Russia. Turkmen figure skaters also won awards for the best choreography, technique and design of dance numbers. With the support of the foreign public, our athletes were noticed by the three-time Olympic Champion Irina Rodnina,” said Karina Movsesyan, a figure skating coach and teacher.
