Oriented on making people closer

Tianjin will host the first parallel event of the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit from April 9th to 11th, 2025. This event, organized within the framework of the Global Development Initiative, will be dedicated to promoting investment in sustainable development.

Approximately 400 representatives from governments and enterprises of SCO member states, as well as Chinese state-owned and private companies, are expected to participate. The event will include the ninth meeting of the Special Working Group on Investment and a conference on “China - SCO” sustainable development industrial cooperation. The main objective of the event is to present sustainable development programs and opportunities for cooperation in key areas such as energy, petrochemicals, infrastructure, and the mining industry.

This event will be an important step in the preparations for the 25th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO member states, which will be held in Tianjin in the autumn of 2025. China, which assumed the rotating chairmanship of the SCO for the years 2024-2025, aims to strengthen cooperation among member states in the field of sustainable development and attract investment for the implementation of joint projects.
