 The second meeting of the Central Asian Youth Dialogue will be held at the UN Headquarters

The second meeting of the Youth Dialogue of Central Asian Countries will be held at the United Nations Headquarters on April 16th in New York, within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust — 2025, proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly. The event is timed to coincide with the 10th anniversary of the United Nations Security Council Resolution on Youth, Peace and Security and will be held under the motto "Voices of Youth for Peace and Trust".

The Second Youth Forum of the Dialogue of Central Asian Countries will take place during the regular session of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). The working language of the event is English.

Furthermore, the participation of heads of relevant state institutions of Central Asian countries, representatives of youth organizations, experts from relevant UN agencies and international partners supporting youth initiatives is expected.

The initiative, first launched in October 2023 in the city of Arkadag, is becoming an important regional platform for the exchange of views and the formation of collective decisions on issues of youth security and integration into peacebuilding processes.

Among the key objectives of the event are: summarizing the first decade of the implementation of the United Nations Security Council Resolution on Youth, Peace and Security, strengthening interaction among the youth of Central Asia, discussing the mechanism of the Dialogue, as well as developing joint projects for the sustainable development of the region.

The agenda of the meeting includes discussions on the role of education in shaping a culture of peace, strengthening trust among the youth of the countries of the region, and social innovations in the context of sustainable development.

The outcome of the meeting is expected to include the expansion of the youth cooperation network, the launch of new joint initiatives, and the preparation of proposals for the institutionalization of the Dialogue, including a mechanism for the rotational holding of meetings in the countries of the region.
