On April 1st, the National Leader of the Turkmen people visited the construction site of the new international airport in the Jebel settlement, where he got acquinted with the progress of the large-scale work being carried out. This was reported by TDH.

As part of a working trip to the Balkan velayat, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, arrived at the location where the construction of the Balkanabat International Airport is continuing at a dynamic pace, with the aim of inspecting the large-scale construction. Advanced experience and innovative technologies are being actively applied in the construction of the new airport, which has an important role to play in increasing the country's transport and transit potential and the volume of freight and passenger traffic.

Here, the National Leader of the Turkmen people familiarized himself with the features of the international airport's runway, as well as the strength and durability of the materials used in its construction. It has been built in accordance with modern requirements and international standards currently in force in this sector.

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan noted that the new airport is of particular importance for the integration of our country into the global economic space and for addressing the tasks of sustainable economic development.

During the Hero Arkadag's visit to the international airport, the construction of which is in its final stages, an aircraft landed here to test the runway. This test landing served as a visible confirmation of the high quality of the runway construction and its compliance with international standards.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov inquired about the equipment of the ancillary facilities located on the territory of the new airport and the specifics of their layout. Equipping the facilities in accordance with modern requirements is of particular importance in ensuring the smooth operation of all airport structures.

Noting the steady increase in the volume of domestic air transportation in the country in recent years, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the new airport will provide a high level of service to passengers arriving at the "Mollagara" sanatorium for recreation and health improvement.

Thanks to the location of the international airport in the Jebel settlement, our compatriots arriving here will be able to quickly reach the resort, which is visible in all its splendor from the air harbor.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people then familiarized himself with the building complexes and the specifics of their equipment, as well as the capabilities of the Balkanabat International Airport.

Following this, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan reviewed the presented designs for the new airport's facilities and their equipment.

The Chairman of the "Türkmenhowaýollary" agency, D. Saburov, provided information on the designs, which include the construction of the new airport and the features of its structures.

As noted, in addition to the existing runway on the territory of the new airport, access roads, aircraft hangars, passenger terminals, a control tower, checkpoints, rescue and fire-fighting facilities, technical buildings, water reservoirs, a facility designed to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the lighting and notification system, a radio navigation systems station, a cargo area, a terminal, and other specialized buildings are planned here.

Noting the need to keep the work being carried out here under constant control, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan emphasized that ensuring their high quality and the timely completion of the construction of the facilities are among the priority requirements. In this regard, a responsible and comprehensive approach to the issues of equipping the buildings and training specialists is necessary.

The National Leader of the Turkmen people wished everyone success in fulfilling the tasks set for increasing the pace of construction of the Balkanabat International Airport, properly landscaping the adjacent territories, and providing high-level services here.

Then, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, having completed his working trip to the Balkan velayat, departed for the capital.
