Tajikistan is developing strategies for digitalization of CIS multimodal transport corridors

Tajikistan has commenced the development of a Strategy for the Digitalization of Multimodal Transport Corridors of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) within the framework of the country's chairmanship in the Commonwealth.

The Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan has announced the holding of an expert meeting at which key aspects of the strategy will be discussed.

Experts from the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), as well as specialists from transport and customs authorities of the CIS member states, have been engaged in the development of the strategy.

The first thematic meeting will take place in March 2025 in Bangkok as part of the International Forum of Dry Port Operators and Logistics and Multimodal Transport Services.

This initiative will contribute to enhancing the efficiency of international transportation, which is a crucial element in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. According to forecasts, global demand for freight transport is expected to increase by 100% and for passenger transport by 79% by the year 2050.
