Turkmenistan has confirmed its participation in the specialized exhibition EXPO 2027 in Belgrade. "The land of unique natural wonders and rich traditions is coming to EXPO 2027. Belgrade!" - this is how it is reported on the Instagram account expo_belgrade_2027.

The upcoming large-scale exhibition, which will be held in the capital of Serbia from May 15 to August 15, 2027, will be focused on the theme "Play for Humanity: Sports and Music for All".

"With their emotional melodies, sports that are deeply rooted in their culture, and games that instill a sense of community and belonging, we look forward to getting to know this country and everything that makes it unique," the organizing committee said in a statement.

Through this international event, the organizers want to demonstrate "potential scenarios and opportunities for creating more resilient individuals and communities." The organizers note that the choice of the city is based on the fact that Belgrade "has been a meeting place for different civilizations for centuries" and has best embraced the cultures that influenced it: Ottoman and Western European.

According to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, 82 countries have already confirmed their participation in the event, with 53 of them having done so officially in writing. Such a number of participants demonstrates the high interest in the event and emphasizes the importance of EXPO 2027 for the global community.

Aleksandar Vučić expressed confidence that the exhibition will set a new world record for the number of participants. This achievement will be an important milestone in the history of Serbia and will strengthen its position on the international stage. The organizers of the exhibition plan to focus on innovation and sustainable development, which is in line with global trends and modern challenges.

During the voting, Serbia surpassed other candidate countries, including the United States, Argentina and Thailand. In the final vote, which took place in Paris during the General Assembly of the International Exhibitions Bureau, Belgrade beat the candidacy of Spain and, in particular, Malaga with a score of 81 in favor and 70 against.

Turkmenistan has participated in various world and specialized EXPO exhibitions, its most recent participation was at EXPO-2020 in Dubai, it will also present its pavilion to visitors at EXPO-2025 in Osaka.
