Turkmenistan – Malaysia: new directions and proposals for cooperation between educational institutions

Gurbangeldiyev held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Malaysia to Turkmenistan Mr. Mohd Suhaimi Bin Ahmad Tajuddin. During the meeting, the parties discussed the expansion of cooperation between higher education institutions of the two countries, the implementation of agreements on cooperation in the field of education and the exchange of experience. This was reported on the official website of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan.
The activities of Petronas in Turkmenistan, as well as the opportunities created for Turkmen students at the Technological University of this company to receive a quality education, were noted as a striking example of active cooperation between Turkmenistan and Malaysia in the field of science and education.
At the meeting, proposals were made to develop new areas of cooperation between educational institutions of the two countries, including the implementation of joint projects. In this context, the parties exchanged views on the active participation of Malaysian students in international Olympiads and competitions held in Turkmenistan.
The Minister of Education of Turkmenistan informed Mr. Ambassador that an official invitation had been sent for the participation of Malaysian schoolchildren in the II International Mathematical Olympiad for Schoolchildren, which will be held in Turkmenistan. He expressed confidence that this event will contribute to strengthening educational ties between the countries.
It was also noted that in order to develop cooperation in the field of education between Turkmenistan and Malaysia, work plans were prepared to implement the documents signed at the end of last year.
The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan asked the Government of Malaysia to consider the possibility of providing scholarships for Turkmen students, expressing confidence that this step will become a new stage in educational cooperation.
In turn, Ambassador Mohd Suhaimi Bin Ahmad Tajuddin thanked the Minister for the reception, expressed appreciation for the proposed initiatives and emphasized the great prospects for the development of educational ties between Turkmenistan and Malaysia. In addition, he voiced a proposal to develop cooperation between secondary specialized educational institutions of the two countries.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed mutual interest in further active development of the partnership and confirmed their readiness to work together to implement new projects and educational initiatives.
