Delegation from Turkmenistan participated in the session of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs in Vienna
15.03.2025 | 06:05 |A high-ranking delegation from Turkmenistan took part in the 68th session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND), which was held at the Vienna office of the United Nations. The session brought together representatives of Member States and international organizations to discuss global drug policy, international cooperation and strategies to combat drug trafficking.
The delegation of Turkmenistan at the session was headed by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the country Yazguly Agabayev. During the event, the Turkmen side reaffirmed Turkmenistan's strong commitment to strengthening international efforts to combat drug-related problems. The delegation emphasized the importance of a balanced approach combining law enforcement and public health measures in combating the drug threat.
Turkmenistan also noted its active participation in various regional and international initiatives aimed at countering drug trafficking, reducing drug addiction and strengthening multilateral cooperation in this area.
In addition, the delegation of Turkmenistan took part in a number of parallel events within the framework of the session. These platforms provided an opportunity to exchange best practices with international colleagues and study innovative approaches to improving global drug control policies.
The participation of the Turkmen delegation in the 68th session of the CND confirms the country's active position in solving global problems related to illicit drug trafficking, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Austria noted.
