01.03.2025 | 05:05 |During a government meeting on Friday, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov approved a series of proposals from Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov on developing cooperation with foreign partners in the field of cybersecurity.
As reported by the Deputy Prime Minister, Turkmenistan is actively working to ensure the reliable protection of its digital space. To this end, work is currently underway to prepare a three-year cooperation program with foreign states and international organizations to ensure the cybersecurity of the digital system, as well as a plan of relevant activities.
The drafts of these documents envisage close partnerships with technologically advanced countries and international organizations to exchange experience and adopt best practices in the field of cybersecurity, which is a prerequisite for attracting investment, developing e-commerce, and protecting intellectual property.
Compliance with international standards in this area will allow Turkmenistan to strengthen its position in the international arena and participate in global cooperation. The documents also aim to participate in international projects, courses, and seminars with the involvement of foreign experts to improve the qualifications of Turkmen specialists.
The tasks also include Turkmenistan's accession to international digital security agreements, modernization of national legislation in accordance with international cybersecurity standards, and the adoption of new laws and regulations aimed at combating cybercrime.
The practical implementation of the developed documents will strengthen international cooperation in the field of cybersecurity, protect critical information infrastructure, and ensure the security of public and private information systems from cybercrime and cyberterrorism.
Thus, the comprehensive measures being taken to ensure Turkmenistan's cybersecurity will be an important step towards sustainable development in the digital age.
