Oriented on making people closer

Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met on Friday, February 28, with Deputy Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Consular, Parliamentary Affairs and Iranians Living Abroad, Vahid Jalalzade.

The diplomats exchanged views on bilateral partnership, paying special attention to such a key area of interaction as trade and economic relations, and also touched upon current regional and international issues.

The effectiveness of the 17th meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Iranian Commission on Consular, Border and Customs Issues held in Ashgabat the day before was noted.

The parties were unanimous in their confidence that interaction between Turkmenistan and Iran will continue to develop in a positive way, and that joint work will contribute to strengthening the cultural and historical ties between the peoples of both countries, giving impetus to overall progress.
