Ashgabat and Bishkek held political consultations at the level of heads of diplomatic missions
26.02.2025 | 22:00 |Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan held political consultations at the level of diplomatic missions. The Turkmen side was headed by Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov, the Kyrgyz side by his colleague Jeenbek Kulubayev.
The agenda included priority issues of Turkmen-Kyrgyz cooperation, analysis of the implementation of interstate agreements, and priority vectors for further work. The schedule of upcoming meetings at various levels was reviewed in detail.
According to the Turkmen Foreign Ministry, the diplomats discussed joint actions within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust, confirmed their readiness to promote common positions on the platform of international organizations, in particular the UN, OSCE, ECO, and in the "CA+" formats, and exchanged views on the regional and global agenda. Special attention was paid to inter-parliamentary relations.
The sides also discussed ways to more fully realize the potential of trade and economic partnership, diversify mutually beneficial ties, and increase the volume of mutual trade. The parties spoke in favor of intensifying contacts in the humanitarian sphere, including organizing cross-cultural Days and other creative events, dialogue in the field of science and education, and in sports.
Following the meeting, Rashid Meredov and Jeenbek Kulubayev signed a Cooperation Program between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan for 2025–2026.
