Turkey aims to increase trade with Turkmenistan to $5 billion, increase mutual investments and hold more frequent meetings between business circles, Turkish Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz wrote on the X social network. "In order to further strengthen the fraternal ties between Turkey and Turkmenistan and deepen our economic cooperation, we held the 8th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation together with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the fraternal country of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyev. ... We exchanged views at the bilateral and inter-delegation levels on ways to develop Turkish-Turkmen relations on an inclusive basis," Yilmaz said.

It is noted that within the framework of the protocol signed today, which includes 87 articles, many concrete steps are outlined, covering trade, investment, energy, transport and scientific cooperation. In particular, the agreements on the transportation of Turkmen gas to Turkey and the development of the Middle Corridor will provide major strategic benefits for both countries.

In addition, deepening joint efforts in areas such as construction, industry, agriculture and health tourism are among the priorities of interaction.

Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz and Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyev held a press conference following the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission at the Presidential Complex. Yilmaz said that the strong ties between Turkey and Turkmenistan, based on common language, religion, culture and history, are strengthening every day thanks to mutual high-level visits, Turkish media reported.
