The Academy of Preventive Diplomacy of the UNRCCA announces admissions for 2025
22.02.2025 | 10:57 |The Academy of Preventive Diplomacy of the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) is pleased to announce the commencement of admissions for the year 2025. This program is designed for young individuals from Central Asia and Afghanistan, aged 18 to 29, who aspire to develop their skills in the field of preventive diplomacy. This presents an exceptional opportunity for them to enhance their knowledge and youth leadership capabilities.
Participants will engage in the study of pivotal topics such as conflict prevention, intercultural communication, human rights, and the role of youth in preventing violent extremism. The instructional format will primarily be online, which necessitates a stable internet connection.
Applications will be accepted until March 10, 2025. Applicants are required to complete the designated application form and submit a motivational letter, not exceeding 300 words, addressing the following inquiry: "What interested you in the Academy of Preventive Diplomacy?"
Furthermore, interested individuals are required to produce a concise video (60-90 seconds) on the theme, "Why am I a suitable candidate for the APD program?"
Selection will be conducted on a competitive basis. Evaluation criteria will encompass: academic/professional profile; demonstrable experience in social work/volunteerism; creative aptitude; and English language proficiency at a minimum level of B2.
Successful graduates of the program will become part of the existing interregional network of Academy of Preventive Diplomacy alumni and will be involved in events organized by UNRCCA and other entities within the United Nations system.
