The Chairman of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan held a series of negotiations in Tokyo
19.02.2025 | 23:55 |February 17 to 19, a Turkmen delegation, headed by Rahymberdi Jepbarov, Chairman of the Board of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan, paid a working visit to Tokyo.
During the visit, Mr. Jepbarov met with Akihisa Nagashima, Special Advisor to the Prime Minister of Japan. The parties discussed current issues of trade and economic cooperation, highlighting priority areas.
The Turkmen delegation also met with Toshiaki Endo, a member of the House of Representatives of the Japanese Parliament and Chairman of the Japan-Turkmen Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group. The meeting participants exchanged views on events planned to be held with the participation of the two countries. Special attention was paid to participation in the World Expo 2025, which will be held in Osaka, and issues related to the organization of the National Day of Turkmenistan within its framework.
In addition, negotiations took place between Rahymberdi Jepbarov and Nobumitsu Hayashi, Chairman of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). New directions of financial and economic cooperation were discussed. The role of Japanese experience in the field of high technologies in the economy and financial sector of Turkmenistan was emphasized, as well as large-scale projects that will be implemented in the near future to develop cooperation between the two countries in the petrochemical, energy and other sectors.
During the visit, meetings were held with the Deputy Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, the Chairman of the Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI), and the heads of corporations such as “Itochu”, “Kawasaki Heavy Industries”, “Mitsubishi”, and others.
