Turkmen-Austrian political consultations held in Ashgabat
11.02.2025 | 23:20 |On February 11, Ashgabat hosted political consultations between the diplomatic agencies of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Austria.
The Turkmen side was headed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Gurbanov, while the Austrian side was led by Gerhard Sayler, Deputy Director General for Political Affairs, Director of the Department for the Russian Federation, Eastern Europe and the Southern Caucasus, Eastern Partnership, Turkey and Central Asia of the Federal Ministry for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria.
The parties noted the high level of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of international structures, in particular the UN, OSCE and EU. The mutual readiness of the countries to continue the practice of mutual support for initiatives in international organizations was confirmed.
During the consultations, priority areas of bilateral relations were discussed, including issues of political and diplomatic dialogue, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian partnership.
The diplomats considered the practical implementation of the Cooperation Program between the foreign policy departments of Turkmenistan and Austria for 2024-2025, signed in Vienna last March.
Speaking about the significant potential for increasing cooperation in the trade and economic sphere, the parties confirmed their readiness to further deepen cooperation and specified its promising areas, the press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reports.
