RECСА and UNFPA aim to develop dialogue on sustainable development in Central Asia
10.02.2025 | 20:30 |Prospects for joint work in the field of sustainable development and demographic change in the Central Asian region were discussed at a meeting between the Executive Director of the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia (RECСА), Zafar Mahmudov, and the head of the UNFPA sub-regional office for Central Asia, Sergio Esperanza.
In the context of the key areas of cooperation between the two organizations, effective measures to ensure socio-economic stability were discussed, including improving public health, family planning and increasing the sustainability of family systems in the countries of the region.
One important topic was the participation of UNFPA in the Central Asian Conference on Climate Change (CACCC-2025), which will be held in Turkmenistan in May 2025. The Executive Director of RECСА invited Sergio Esperanza to join the event, which annually brings together experts and representatives of international organizations to discuss pressing environmental challenges.
As noted, the interaction between RECСА and UNFPA opens up new horizons for joint initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life of the region's population and achieving sustainable development goals.
