Kyrgyz business invited to the SMEs and International Investment Forum in Ashgabat
05.02.2025 | 23:40 |The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to Turkmenistan, Azizbek Madmarov, met on February 4 with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Nokerguly Atagulyev.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed the results of trade and economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan over the past year, as well as discussed potential directions for expanding cooperation in this area, according to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan.
Ambassador Madmarov emphasized the importance of the practical implementation of the decisions made at the 6th meeting of the Intergovernmental Kyrgyz-Turkmen Commission on trade, economic, scientific-technical, and humanitarian cooperation. In particular, he highlighted the agreements on joint investment projects, including the creation of the Kyrgyz-Turkmen Development Fund.
The importance of enhancing cooperation between the chambers of commerce and industry of both countries was also noted. In this context, the initiative of the Kyrgyz Chamber of Commerce and Industry to organize a familiarization business tour for Kyrgyz entrepreneurs to Turkmenistan in April was announced. The Ambassador requested assistance in organizing this event.
Nokerguly Atagulyev confirmed interest in intensifying joint work and expressed readiness to support the expansion of contacts between the business circles of both countries. He also invited Kyrgyz entrepreneurs to participate in the exhibition dedicated to the 17th anniversary of the establishment of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan, and in the international forum "Investments in the Future of Turkmenistan" which will be held in Ashgabat this spring.
