In Kazakhstan, foreign tourists have started receiving cards with QR codes
05.02.2025 | 11:10 |In Kazakhstan, foreign tourists have started receiving cards with QR codes, providing access to the multilingual SafeTravel.kz portal. This initiative was announced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan on February 5, 2025, and is aimed at ensuring the safety and convenience of tourists during their stay in the country.
Upon entering Kazakhstan, each foreigner, while passing through border control, is given a special card containing a QR code. Scanning this code directs the tourist to the portal, where they can find important information, including recommendations for safe stay, links to mobile applications, and emergency services contact details. The portal offers services such as a mobile app for contacting the police, guidelines on migration laws, city maps, and lists of official taxis. This system not only enhances security but also helps build trust in Kazakhstan as an attractive destination for travel and investment.
The first cards have already been handed out at the international airport in Astana, marking an important step in the development of the country's tourism infrastructure.
