Oriented on making people closer

On February 4, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov met with thte President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in Astana.

Tokayev congratulated on the beginning of the International Year of Peace and Trust initiated by Ashgabat, which coincides with the 30th anniversary of the country's neutrality, and expressed Kazakhstan's readiness to continue to provide all-round support in the implementation of Turkmenistan's peacekeeping initiatives.

Rashid Meredov conveyed greetings to the President of Kazakhstan from President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, confirming Ashgabat's commitment to increasing cooperation with Astana across the entire spectrum of interstate relations.

Meredov and Tokayev discussed the implementation of previously reached high-level agreements in the energy, transit and transport, as well as cultural and humanitarian spheres, according to the Akorda statement.
