Turkmenistan has called upon the CIS countries to join in the celebration of the International Year of Peace and Trust

On January 22nd, at the Moscow branch of the CIS Executive Committee, during a meeting of the Commission on Economic Issues under the CIS Economic Council, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation, plenipotentiary representative of Turkmenistan to the Commission on Economic Issues, Esen Aydogdyev, presented information on the "Concept of Activities and Priorities of Turkmenistan within the Framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust in 2025".

He emphasized that during the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Turkmenistan initiated the General Assembly resolution "International Year of Peace and Trust, 2025", which was adopted with the co-authorship of 86 states. The resolution reflects the fundamental goals and principles of the UN Charter, in particular, the obligations to resolve emerging disputes by peaceful means and methods.

A proposal was put forward for the joint implementation of activities within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust, which would serve as further confirmation of unity and cooperation in pursuit of the goals inherent in the activities of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The resolution "International Year of Peace and Trust, 2025" has become a practical embodiment of the philosophy of new international relations, "Dialogue – Guarantee of Peace," declared by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The Concept states that "Turkmenistan views the decision to hold the International Year of Peace and Trust in 2025 as an event of global scale, a real opportunity for a qualitative transition to a new stage in international relations. In essence, Turkmenistan's initiative is an invitation and a call to all states to begin joint work, encompassing the political, ideological, and practical aspects of realizing the idea of peace and trust as a fundamental principle of world order.

The culminating event will be a major international forum in December 2025, dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust, the International Day of Neutrality, and the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's permanent neutrality". The full version of the concept is available via the link.
