Donald Trump, as promised, supported many executive orders immediately after the inauguration

Donald Trump was sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on Monday. Immediately after his inauguration, Donald Trump signed a slew of executive orders, as he promised.

Trump pardoned the rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, to protest his 2020 presidential election loss on his first day in office.

Trump also signed an executive order to suspend the congressional ban on TikTok for 75 days. Trump said the period would serve as a window to find an American buyer for the platform in a deal that would protect national security interests and keep the popular social media platform open to Americans.

Repeating what he did during his first term, Trump signed an executive order to withdraw the United States from the World Health Organization (WHO).

He also ordered a comprehensive review of U.S. foreign aid spending. He ordered a 90-day suspension of all U.S. foreign aid programs while they are examined to determine whether they are in the U.S. national interest.

In a more symbolic move, Trump also plans to sign an executive order renaming the Gulf of Mexico the "Gulf of America". North America's tallest mountain, currently known as Denali after former President Barack Obama renamed it Mount McKinley.

Trump has reversed several of his predecessor's immigration orders, including one that narrowed the scope of deportations. Biden has ordered that deportations be prioritized for people who have committed serious crimes or are considered national security threats.

Trump has also temporarily suspended the United States Refugee Admissions Program pending a review to assess the program's impact on public safety and national security.

Trump has signed documents that he says formally withdraw the U.S. from the Paris climate accords. He took a similar step during his first term, but Biden reversed it after taking office.

Trump is rolling back protections for transgender people and ending diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs in the federal government. Both are major changes to federal policy that are in line with his campaign promises. The order will require the federal government to recognize only two immutable genders — male and female.

Trump also brought back the Diet Coke order button to the Oval Office. In 2021, the Associated Press reported that former President Joe Biden removed the red button Trump used to summon his favorite drink, Diet Coke, from his White House desk.

“The button Trump famously used to order Diet Coke has been installed and is ready to go,” the publication said.
