Kazakhstan to institute jubilee medal for 80th anniversary of Victory
18.01.2025 | 04:00 |A draft Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the establishment of a jubilee medal in commemoration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 has been prepared. It states that, paying tribute to the deep respect for the feat, heroism and dedication of war veterans and home front workers, the jubilee medal "1941-1945 жж. Ұлу Отан соғысындағы Жеңіске 80 жыл" is instituted, its description is given and the rules for awarding are approved. The medal will be awarded to military personnel and other participants in the war, persons who were wounded or shell-shocked during the war, minor prisoners of concentration camps, spouses of those who died in the war, and home front workers.
The year 2025 has been declared in the CIS as the Year of the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War – the Year of Peace and Unity in the Fight against Nazism. Last fall, the official logo for the 80th anniversary of Victory was presented at the Victory Museum on Poklonnaya Gora in Moscow. It depicts the famous sculpture by Yevgeny Vuchetich “The Motherland Calls!” on Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd.
