 A musical evening of Indian cinema took place in Ashgabat

Today, a musical evening of Indian cinema was held at the Mukams Palace of the State Cultural Center, timed to coincide with the celebration of the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas (Non-Resident Indian Day) and the 100th anniversary of the legendary Raj Kapoor. The event was organized by the Indian Embassy in Ashgabat in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan and drew a full house.

Guests of the evening were treated to a unique program: the State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan, under the direction of conductor and artistic director Rasul Klychev, performed iconic melodies from legendary Indian films.

That evening featured soundtracks from films that have left a mark in the hearts of millions: "Shree 420," "Awaara", "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge", "Devdas", "Disco Dancer", "Bajirao Mastani", "Slumdog Millionaire", "3 Idiots", "Seeta Aur Geeta", "Bobby", and others.

Soloists Bahram Huseynov, Tachnabat Yomudova, Gozel Annakhanova, Mansur Sharipov, Gulzada Gorganova, Arzuv Gorganova, and Dovran Shammyev brilliantly performed songs in Hindi, which elicited enthusiastic applause from the audience.

Their vocal performances were accompanied by vibrant dance productions, without which Indian cinema is unimaginable.

The two-hour concert flew by in a single breath, immersing the audience in the atmosphere of Indian cinema. The music, dances, and inspiring performance of the artists gifted the audience with unforgettable emotions.
