Iranian President plans to visit Moscow on January 17
28.12.2024 | 01:05 |Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian will visit the Russian capital on January 17. This was announced by Ambassador of the Islamic Republic to the Russian Federation Kazem Jalali, IRNA reports.
"During this visit, Pezeshkian and Russian President Vladimir Putin will sign an agreement on comprehensive strategic partnership," the Iranian news agency quotes the ambassador as saying.
Earlier, on December 23, during a meeting in Tehran with Masoud Pezeshkian, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev invited the Iranian President to visit Russia in early 2025 and emphasized the Russian side's readiness for negotiations and further cooperation.
At this meeting, Pezeshkian reaffirmed his government's determination to complete the construction of the North-South strategic international corridor.
In addition, this week Iran became an observer in the Eurasian Economic Union. On Thursday, December 26, the document on the Islamic Republic of Iran receiving observer status in the EAEU was signed by the heads of five member states of the Union.
The document was signed at a ceremony following the meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, which was held in St. Petersburg with the participation of Minister of Industry, Mining and Trade of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Atabak.
