What will the iPhone 17 Air look like?

Apple is preparing a major update to its iPhone smartphones, which will be the most significant in the last few years.

The Americans will not only significantly rework the technical components, but will also diversify the model line with a fundamentally new modification of the Air.

The iPhone 17 Air, expected in 2025, will be Apple's thinnest smartphone.

The new product will have a thickness of about 6.25 mm, which is 2 mm thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro and 1.5 mm thinner than the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus.

The device will be equipped with a new A19 processor, operating together with an increased up to 8 GB of RAM. Moreover, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to be the first Apple smartphone to receive a new 5G chip and a self-developed Wi-Fi module. This will reduce the size of the device without compromising performance.

According to the assumptions, the developers use a case made using aluminum and titanium, which will allow combining the lightness of standard models with the strength and reliability of the Pro versions.

And one of the most important changes should be the main camera with a single lens. It will be represented by a single 48 MP sensor with 2X optical magnification.

For the first time in several years, Apple will also improve the front-facing camera: the current 12-megapixel sensor with five plastic lenses will be replaced by a 24-megapixel selfie camera with six optical elements.

The iPhone 17 Air's display will have a 6.6-inch diagonal with support for ProMotion technology, which provides an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz. Manufacturers promise a new super-strong protective coating.

The smartphone will not have a SIM card slot, which is related to the thickness requirements. It is expected that the presentation of the device will take place in the fall of 2025 as part of the traditional big Apple presentation.
