Aircraft from Central Asian countries will be repaired in Aktau

A new aircraft maintenance and repair center will be established at Aktau Airport, which will service both civilian and military aircraft from Kazakhstan, Russia, and Central Asian countries.

This was announced by Kazakhstan's Minister of Transport, Marat Karabaev, during a Government Hour session in the Majilis.

According to him, as a result of these measures, the cargo handling capacity of Aktau Airport will increase to 200,000 tons per year, and the annual turnover will reach 520 billion tenge. Among the advantages of the airport are its accessibility for all types of transport and its proximity to Europe, with only a 3-hour flight.
