The U.S. Embassy in Turkmenistan has announced the launch of a visa renewal service that does not require an interview. Now, citizens of Turkmenistan can renew their U.S. visa without long waits or having to visit the embassy, provided they meet certain conditions.

Who can use this new service?

The visa renewal service without an interview is available for the following categories of applicants:

Residents of Turkmenistan renewing a visa of the same category as the previously issued visa, if it is still valid or has expired no more than 48 months ago.

How to use the visa renewal service without an interview?

To take advantage of the new visa renewal process, applicants must follow these steps:

Check the validity of your passport – it must remain valid for at least 6 months.

Complete the online DS-160 form on the CEAC website.

Email the following documents to ConsularAshgab@state.gov:

DS-160 confirmation page.

A copy of your previous U.S. visa.

A copy of your current passport.

For applicants who are not the primary applicant, provide the name of the person who will drop off the passport and pay the visa fee.

After reviewing your documents, the embassy will send you the appointment date. Important: Do not go to the embassy until you receive an email with confirmation and further instructions.

Exceptions and important notes:

If your previous visa was issued outside of Turkmenistan, or if your last visa application was rejected, you cannot use this service. This service is not available for Summer Work and Travel program participants or applicants whose visa has a "clearance received" annotation.

For applicants whose F, M, or J visas have changed (e.g., SEVIS, program, or institution), an interview is still required.

The visa process is significantly simplified: applicants can email all required documents, pay the fee, and drop off their passport at the embassy. You can pick up your passport with the visa the following week.

This new service makes the U.S. visa application process more convenient and faster for eligible citizens of Turkmenistan.
