Turkmenistan and Qatar expand cooperation in the field of education
11.12.2024 | 11:10 |On December 10, 2024, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan hosted a high-level meeting between the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, Mr. Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev, and the Director of Qatar’s Diplomatic Institute, Mr. Abdulaziz Mohammad Al-Horry.
The discussion was enriched by the presence of the Ambassadors of both nations, Mr. Myratgeldi Seyitmammedov and Mr. Hamad Al-Azbi. Also in attendance were the Deputy Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, Mr. Azat Atayev, and the Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Mrs. Gulshat Yusupova, and the Head of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Education, Mrs. Gulnabat Gurdova.
The meeting primarily aimed to explore new initiatives for enhancing collaboration in higher education between Qatar's Diplomatic Institute and the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, along with other pertinent academic institutions in Turkmenistan.
The Minister of Education of Turkmenistan underscored the significant progress achieved in educational cooperation over the past year, highlighting the positive influence of recent official visits by the leaders of Turkmenistan and Qatar. These high-level engagements, he noted with pride, have substantially contributed to strengthening ties in the education sector. The Minister also presented a series of concrete proposals to further advance collaboration between Qatar’s Diplomatic Institute and Turkmenistan’s higher education institutions.
In response, Mr. Abdulaziz Mohammad Al-Horry expressed his full endorsement of the proposed initiatives and affirmed his commitment to their practical implementation. He also shared his impressions from his visit to the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, where he delivered a lecture. Mr. Al-Horry praised the exceptional talents of Turkmen students, emphasizing the profound impact their abilities had made on him.
Concluding the meeting, both sides extended their gratitude for the mutual interest and constructive proposals aimed at fostering educational cooperation between Turkmenistan and Qatar. They expressed optimism that the partnership would continue to thrive as a mutually beneficial and productive collaboration.
