According to the Chinese news channel CGTN for an international audience, the mascot of the television show that marks the beginning of the Year of the Snake is called Xishengsheng. It is a symbol of vitality and good luck.
The front side of the talisman repeats the outlines of the silver scepter of the Tang Dynasty. The scepter was found during excavations in Shaanxi Province in northwest China. The drawing of snake eyes is borrowed from bronze artifacts discovered in the ruins of Sanxingdui in the south-west of the country.
The New Year according to the lunar calendar will come on January 29, 2025. The gala concert will be shown on the eve of the holiday.
