 Turkey and Turkmenistan set sights on expanding bilateral trade

Turkish Trade Minister Omer Bolat, who visited Ashgabat to participate in the 11th Turkish Export Products Fair, outlined plans to expand trade and economic relations with Turkmenistan. According to his statement, the goal is to increase trade turnover to $5 billion.

Bolat emphasized the importance of developing cooperation in sectors such as the food and textile industries, automotive, and construction.

The Turkish Export Products Fair, which opened today in Ashgabat, is a testament to the growing interest of Turkish companies in the Turkmen market.

On the sidelines of the event, Omer Bolat met with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Nokerguly Atagulyyev. On his social media page, he said that the meeting discussed steps that both sides could take to achieve mutual trade of $5 billion, the process of updating the Agreement on Mutual Promotion and Protection of Investments, contractual projects implemented by Turkish companies, and potential directions for future cooperation.

"As we emphasized at the fair that we organized in Ashgabat with the participation of many of our exporting companies, Turkey is determined to strengthen and diversify its partnership with our friendly and fraternal country of Turkmenistan," Omer Bolat stressed.
