International experts to discuss inclusion of the Caspian branch of the Silk Road in UNESCO's World Heritage List
30.11.2024 | 08:19 |Turkmenistan is preparing to host a Regional Meeting of international experts to discuss the inclusion of the Caspian branch of the Great Silk Road in UNESCO's World Heritage List. Deputy Chairperson of the Cabinet of Ministers, M. Mammedova, reported on these preparations during a recent meeting of Cabinet Ministers.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the National Commission of Turkmenistan for UNESCO, is scheduled to hold this event on December 6-7. Representatives from prestigious international and regional organizations, as well as research centers from various countries, are expected to attend.
The agenda for the upcoming meeting includes discussions on integrating modern technologies into the research and management of heritage sites, and initiating the preparation of an Atlas of Maps and graphic materials related to the historical and cultural heritage sites along the Caspian-Volga corridor of the Silk Road.
Upon hearing the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, emphasized Turkmenistan's active engagement with the United Nations and its specialized agencies. Approving the proposal aimed at fostering cooperation in this field, the President instructed that the necessary preparations be made.
Continuing the report, the Vice-Premier provided an update on the organizational aspects of the cultural events planned to commemorate International Neutrality Day.
Having listened to the report, President Berdimuhamedov instructed that the upcoming celebrations of this significant national holiday, which is widely observed both domestically and internationally, be organized at the highest level.
