 Türkiýe's Republic 101st Anniversary Celebrated in Turkmenistan

Today, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Türkiýe to Turkmenistan hosted a reception at his residence in Ashgabat to mark the 101st anniversary of the Republic of Türkiýe.

Among the guests were Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Batyr Atdayev and representatives of foreign diplomatic missions, organizations, and media operating in Turkmenistan.

During his speech at the event, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Atdayev congratulated the Turkish people on Republic Day. He also noted that many agreements and projects have been implemented between the two countries over the past 30 years in various sectors.

Ambassador Ahmet Demirok expressed his great honor to celebrate the 101st anniversary of the Republic of Türkiýe in Turkmenistan and to welcome the guests of the event.

— Today, in our homeland of Turkmenistan, we proudly, joyfully, and excitedly celebrate the 101st anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Türkiýe. Allow me to express my gratitude to each of you for the honor of being together with us on this joyous day. This year marks the 32nd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Türkiýe and Turkmenistan, and I want to express my appreciation and respect to the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and the National Leader of the Turkmen people for their support in strengthening the relations between our brotherly countries to their current level.

In continuation of his speech, the ambassador thanked the participants of the event for their sincere congratulations.

It is worth noting that the momentum achieved in Türkiýe's relations with Turkmenistan is reflected in various sectors, including trade and economic cooperation. The total trade volume in 2023 reached $2.6 billion. From January to August 2024, the bilateral trade volume reached $1.532 billion, which is 16% higher than during the same period last year. This figure is expected to reach five billion dollars in trade turnover.

Since gaining independence, Turkish companies have successfully completed over a thousand projects in Turkmenistan. This demonstrates Turkmenistan's trust in Turkish companies. Turkish companies have implemented significant infrastructure projects in Turkmenistan requiring advanced technologies, such as power plants, power transmission lines, highways, residential buildings, shopping centers, universities, schools, public buildings, hotels, factories, museums, parks, hospitals, and the construction of a port. Currently, Turkish companies are working on 19 projects worth $4.4 billion.
