According to the results of 2023, trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan increased by 28%, exceeding half a billion dollars. Positive dynamics continue this year, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Ashgabat Nurlan Nogayev noted in his article published in the central press of Turkmenistan on Friday, on the occasion of the national holiday celebrated in Kazakhstan on October 25 - Republic Day.

"There are opportunities for consistent expansion and deepening of cooperation across the entire spectrum of the bilateral agenda, as well as further promotion of existing relations to an even higher level," the diplomat emphasized.

The article indicates that high-level meetings are held on a regular basis. On October 15, 2022, the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Kazakhstan took place. On October 10, 2024, the official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Turkmenistan took place.

The agreements reached at the highest level are being implemented thanks to the successful work of the Kazakh-Turkmen Intergovernmental Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation, the regular meeting of which was held in Ashgabat on October 2 of this year.

Nurlan Nogayev emphasized that 2024 was marked by very important events in bilateral cooperation in the field of culture. In May, in the new cultural and park complex of Ashgabat "Magtymguly Fragi", which unites 24 statues of world-famous writers and poets of different countries and eras, a monument to the great Kazakh kuyshi-composer Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly was erected on the initiative of the Turkmen side.

In July, a monument to the outstanding Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi was solemnly unveiled in the center of Astana. As part of the visit of the head of Kazakhstan to Turkmenistan, a monument to the Kazakh thinker and writer Abai Kunanbayuly was unveiled in a ceremonial ceremony in the picturesque “Lachin” Park in Ashgabat.

One of the significant and important events, according to the Ambassador, was the holding of the cross days of culture of our countries this year - Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in Kazakhstan on June 25-27 and Days of Culture of Kazakhstan in Turkmenistan on October 7-9.

He also noted that the creative team of the Mangistau Regional Music and Drama Theater took an active part in the 2nd International Theater Festival TURKSOY in Ashgabat on October 18-20, and theater groups of Turkmenistan will take part in the 9th International Festival of Theaters of Central Asian Countries in Shymkent on November 6-12.

"I am confident that the traditions of good-neighborly cooperation and friendly relations between our fraternal peoples will continue to rapidly expand and strengthen," the Ambassador concluded.
