The Forum of Authors of the Turkic World and the Meeting of the Authors' Association of TURKSOY, organized within the framework of the program “Anau - the Cultural Capital of the Turkic World - 2024” took place on 18-19 October, in Ashgabat.

The event was attended by the President of the Authors' Association of TURKSOY Ulugbek Esdevlet, the President of the Authors’ Association of Türkiye Musa Kazım Arıcan, the President of the Association of Eurasian Authors Ufuk Tuzman, the President of the Authors’ Union of Kyrgyzstan Kanibek Imanaliev, the representative of the Authors’ Union of Uzbekistan Gayrat Majit, the representative of the Authors’ Union of Kazakhstan Kasımhan Begmanov, Director of the Institute of Social Sciences of the Yıldırım Beyazıt University of Ankara, poets and authors from Turkmenistan.

Speaking at the meeting, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev said: “This forum is a great opportunity to emphasize the rich literary heritage of the Turkic World and carry our common cultural heritage to the future”.

At the meeting of the Authors’ Association of TURKSOY, various projects and ideas for the literary development of the Turkic World were discussed. In this context, proposals were made to support young authors, translate literary works into different languages and promote them on international platforms, as well as organizing joint literary events and competitions.

The forum featured poem readings, a meeting of students of the Turkmen State Institute of Culture with authors and other events.
