The head of the friendly state conveyed warm greetings from the Supreme Spiritual Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, reports TDH.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed his best wishes to the Supreme Spiritual Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran and noted that the distinguished guest was making his first visit to Turkmenistan as the elected President of Iran.
As emphasized, Turkmenistan places special importance on strengthening relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in its foreign policy. Guided by the legal status of positive neutrality, our country engages in fruitful cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran in various directions.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the bilateral partnership in political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres, as well as on international and regional issues.
Within the framework of political-diplomatic interaction, inter-parliamentary relations hold an important place. In this direction, the inter-parliamentary friendship group of the two countries is functioning successfully. Trade-economic cooperation is one of the priority areas of bilateral relations. Currently, these ties are developing steadily.
Particular emphasis is placed on cooperation in the cultural-humanitarian sphere, especially in the fields of science, education, healthcare, physical culture, and sports.
During the meeting, the President of Turkmenistan once again expressed gratitude for the joint cultural events held in the Islamic Republic of Iran in May of this year on the occasion of the anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi and for the active participation of representatives of the friendly country in them.
In a meeting with the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed confidence that the guest's visit would be an important step in elevating bilateral cooperation to a new level.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that Turkmenistan and Pakistan are connected not only by geographical proximity but also by deep historical roots, common culture and spiritual values. Our countries have been effectively cooperating for many years, and recently the partnership has been developing dynamically.
Joint implementation of such large-scale projects as the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India transnational gas pipeline, Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power transmission and fiber-optic communication line is a vivid example of this. In September this year, Turkmenistan provided assistance in the implementation of the above projects in Afghanistan.
According to the interlocutors, the main condition for the development of Turkmen-Pakistani relations is a dialogue at the highest state level, based on openness, mutual trust, and friendship. Mutual respect and systematic contacts between the leaders of the two countries, as well as the implementation of major projects aimed at strengthening intergovernmental ties, serve as a strong impetus for advancing long-term initiatives.
At the meeting between the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan, it was noted that within the framework of the development of interstate relations, great importance is attached to cooperation in the cultural-humanitarian sphere, with established connections in the fields of science and education, healthcare, physical culture, and sports.
Among the priority areas of partnership, trade-economic, transport-communication sectors, agriculture, and tourism were highlighted. It was emphasized that the work of the joint Intergovernmental Commission plays a significant role in activating intergovernmental ties, as it facilitates the practical implementation of reached agreements and the diversification and development of effective cooperation.
During the meeting, the President Vahagn Khachaturyan presented to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov a collection of poems by Magtymguly Fraghi translated into Armenian.
