 USAID YDA and the School of Entrepreneurs Enhance Entrepreneurship  Education in Turkmenistan

The USAID Youth Development Activity (YDA) and the School of Entrepreneurs of the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan have partnered to further boost youth entrepreneurship in Turkmenistan. This initiative aims to improve the methodology and practice of training aspiring entrepreneurs in the practical business skills necessary for success in the modern business world.

Through this partnership, USAID YDA and the School of Entrepreneurs have modernized the curriculum on teaching entrepreneurial skills, making it more interactive and focused on real-world application. The revamped curriculum is based on new teaching methods, emphasizing practical and engaging learning. This approach fosters problem-solving skills and creative thinking—key qualities needed for entrepreneurial success.

From September 30 to October 4, 2024, USAID YDA with the School of Entrepreneurs, conducted a training session on using the enhanced entrepreneurship curriculum. Teachers from the School of Entrepreneurs, including those from provincial branches, participated in this session. The training focused on practical teaching methods, including case studies, group work, and other interactive forms of learning. These teachers will integrate the new methodologies into their entrepreneurship teaching practices.

The next phase of the program involves training young people with promising business ideas at the School of Entrepreneurs' branches in Ashgabat, and the provinces, providing them with the opportunity to develop and improve their business projects.

Participants will present their business plans developed during the training, allowing the best business ideas to be identified. Winners of the competition may gain access to mentorship, investment opportunities, or other support to bring their ideas to life.

This initiative is a crucial step in developing entrepreneurial skills among youth and aims to prepare a new generation of young entrepreneurs who can make a significant contribution to the country's economy.
