Russia has provided new quotas in Russian universities for students from Turkmenistan

The Department of Culture, Science and Education of the Russian Embassy in Ashgabat reported that the Russian government has allocated 500 educational quotas for applicants from Turkmenistan for the 2025-2026 academic year.

The selection of candidates for budget places in Russian universities will begin on October 7. This program provides Turkmen applicants with a unique opportunity to receive higher education at prestigious Russian universities for free. This not only contributes to the development of human potential, but also strengthens bilateral ties between Russia and Turkmenistan in the field of education.

Today, about 30 thousand Turkmen students study at Russian universities. The most popular areas among students from Turkmenistan studying in Russia on a budget basis are economics, linguistics, law, medicine, management and software engineering.

Ashgabat and Moscow are also working on the issue of creating a joint Russian-Turkmen University.
