Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan visits Ashgabat
01.10.2024 | 19:50 |On October 1, a meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmet Gurbanov and Masaki Ishikawa, the Special Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan for Central Asia and the Caucasus.
The sides noted the high level of development of Turkmen-Japanese relations on the basis of regular political dialogue at the highest level. Priority areas for expanding bilateral cooperation, as well as within the framework of regional and international structures were discussed, emphasizing the role of the Dialogue "Central Asia + Japan", according to the press release from the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
The diplomats highlighted the effectiveness of interparliamentary cooperation, particularly pointing out the significance of the visit by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, to Japan in September 2022.
Particular attention was given to trade and economic ties, as well as the established cooperation in the gas-chemical and transportation sectors, including investment projects involving both countries. The preparation for the upcoming World Expo 2025 in Osaka, with the participation of a delegation from Turkmenistan, was discussed in detail.
