On September 28, in New York, Minister Rashid Meredov met with the Acting Secretary General of the OSCE and head of the Conflict Prevention Centre, Catherine Fearon.

The sides underlined the significance of the long-standing cooperation between Turkmenistan and the OSCE in the political, economic and humanitarian fields. It was noted that Turkmenistan supports the further development of the Organisation in its current format, focusing on strengthening regional security and sustainable development.

During the discussion, both current and future joint projects and programs in Turkmenistan were reviewed. The Minister of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed the previously proposed initiatives within the OSCE framework, including the preparation of a Common Security Strategy, the development of an environmental program, and the establishment of a structure for sustainable transport. These initiatives align with Turkmenistan's priorities in environmental protection and the development of transport infrastructure and are important for enhancing the functionality of the Organization.
