Turkmenistan sent another batch of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

On September 11, in accordance with the Order of the President of Turkmenistan, humanitarian aid was sent to the Afghan people at the expense of the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care. This is a gesture of goodwill on the occasion of the start of construction of the Serhetabat-Herat gas pipeline, power lines, transport and communication lines on the Turkmen-Afghan border.

The humanitarian cargo consists of baby food, wheat, food and industrial goods, carbamide, diesel fuel, gasoline and cement.

This humanitarian action is a continuation of our country's long-standing efforts to support Afghanistan and serves to strengthen the traditional friendship and good neighborliness between the Turkmen and Afghan peoples, the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

A representative group of our country and high-ranking officials from the Afghan side took part in the ceremony of handing over the humanitarian cargo.

"I would like to assure our Afghan brothers and partners that Turkmenistan will continue to provide comprehensive support to the neighboring country, including economic and political-diplomatic support, especially in the international arena," National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Khalk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said, speaking at the opening and laying ceremonies of energy, transport, communications and logistics infrastructure facilities on Wednesday.
