Moscow will host a concert with the participation of laureates and jury of the “Sounds of Dutar” festival
31.08.2024 | 23:50 |“Towards the VIII Festival “Sounds of Dutar” - this is the name of the concert, which will be held on 15 September in Moscow, at the Museum and Exhibition Complex of the Russian Academy of Arts, and will be a kind of prelude to the VIII Moscow International Arts Festival “Sounds of Dutar” named after Nury Halmamedov, which this year will be held from 28 October to 3 November. The concert will feature jury members and laureates of musical competitions of different years. It starts at 16.00.
In 2024, the Organizing Committee of the festival developed an extensive program dedicated to the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly and aimed at a deep study of the heritage of the poet and philosopher. The events that have already taken place include concerts with the participation of Turkmen and Russian artists. Thus, on 7 April, a concert entitled “The Fount of Wisdom Magtymguly Fragi” was held at the Zurab Tsereteli Gallery, which was the beginning of a series of events to celebrate the anniversary in Moscow. More recently, on 21 August, the Rachmaninov Hall of the Moscow State Conservatory hosted a concert entitled “He Truly Became the Mouth of Turkmenistan”.
In addition, competitions have been organized, the main objective of which is to popularize Magtymguly’s legacy, primarily among the youth of Russia.
The acceptance of works for a number of competitions and the scientific conference “Magtymguly and his role in world culture” have been finalized. In particular, the acceptance of applications for the art competition of illustrations to the poems of Magtymguly “Reflection” and the competition of composers “Musical works based on the poems of Magtymguly Fraghi” have been completed. The organizing committee received many interesting and original works, and the jury members enthusiastically began to evaluate them. Soon the secret of the results will be revealed and the winners will be announced. Following the results of these competitions, it is planned to publish a collection of music and art, which will include the works of the finalists. These selected works will not only demonstrate the talent of the participants, but will also enrich the cultural heritage by combining the power of poetry and the magic of music into a single whole.

More than 1000 musicians-performers, as well as choreographic and choral groups from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Guatemala, Germany, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, UAE, Russia, Slovenia, USA, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan, France, South Korea, Japan, and other countries have participated in the seven previous festivals, the organizing committee of the festival “Sounds of Dutar” noted.
The international festival “Sounds of Dutar” serves as an important bridge, strengthening the traditions of friendship and spiritual closeness between the peoples of Russia and the CIS countries, promoting mutual understanding and cultural exchange.
